@mbrutus Thank you for your nice comment. I was really surprised to see that more than half of the youngsters in the streets were of African, Indian or oriental ascent. It is much more than the number usually cited when speaking of immigrants, but I believe that if it were stratified by age it would be clear that Italians don't have children, while the immigrants do. Less egotistic? More faith in the future? lack of anticonceptionals? I don't know the answer,

I find your comments about immigrants so enlightening. The descendants of our Anglo-Saxon settlers here in Canada are also failing to have children so our population is slowly changing from Caucasian to African, Indian or oriental descent. Not a bad thing but our culture has definitely changed.
