Country Roads

After visiting my stepmother at her assisted living facility in Salem, I returned home by way of some pretty country roads. That's one of my favorite little treats.

Many of the fields are a bright green (or a deep muddy brown) and the hazelnut trees are developing their catkins, making for pretty "fluffy" orchards. It feels as though spring is in the air.
It is amazing to see the earth come to life again. This is such a beautiful pastoral scene!

I'm sure your stepmother appreciated your visit and so nice to have different ways home. This scene doesn't look muddy at all but its still winter there!

Love the graceful silhouettes against the bright catkin colors

What a lovely landscape. The trees look a lot like the trees I posted today...

So pretty. I'm glad you found a country road to explore - I like to do the same.

A wonderful landscape. When I would go visit my mother in the nursing home, I often took the "scenic" route home just to decompress.

@ribbet9 It's off of River Road (down in the low farm lands along the Willamette) north of Keizer. I often drive through the area following my visits -- in part because of your wonderful country photo inspiration, Candace!
