With the walking paths Malcolm has been building out back, I can get to areas I have not been able to access on our property except during the winter when the ground is frozen. I so enjoy seeing all the new growth out there and how it pushes up through the old.
@claireuk it is now that i have paths to walk upon. before, it was too wet and i would lose my boots in the muck. my husband used his tractor and hauled fill back there and now it is nice and firm to walk on - he installed a culvert so the water passes through it so nothing was disturbed at all. what is exciting is seeing all the deer and moose footprints on the walkways. they are making good use of the easy walkways, too. i am hoping to get some shots of them - some day!
@summerfield we have problems with skunks sometimes around the garbage bins. have not seen - or smelled any in the last few years, however, ever since a stray cat i was feeding disappeared. if food is left out, they come around. we have video of babies eating with the stray cat's kittens. they were not afraid of us at all but we had to catch those wild kittens in order to get rid of the skunks. had to take the food away and then they left. their mom had gotten hit by a car so we waited until they were big enough to survive on their own. they grew so fast!
