Ava's bad habit by catsmeowb

Ava's bad habit

Ava loves to lick windows. She sits on her stool many hours of the day, watching Lola out in the yard and every now and then, licks the glass. I have told her not to do it but she just gives me what I call her 'hairy eyeball' look and continues on her way. So, I wash the windows and allow her to have her bad habit. Of course, those twins and Lola also now lick windows, too. Sophie sniffs what they have gotten done during a day's work with great disdain; she is so above their juvenile nonsense. An anonymous person said once that "bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of" - and if my dog has a few, not her fault but mine. She is only a little bit pampered. . .
so cute :)

@bkbinthecity just finished washing the window for today. by the morning, it will look very much the same once again. perhaps she really enjoys the taste of vinegar?

@craftymeg she has the best expressions, and also is just barely reflected in all that dirty glass, too. Lola is off in her own world outside. thank you for commenting, i do appreciate it.

@henrir this is how we start our mornings. i dvr a news show late nights then watch it while i drink my coffee. Ava watches Lola who stays outside no matter what the weather is like. thank you so much for your kind words.

Superb image - such a lovely portrait of this beautiful dog. Thank you for you tips, spent this afternoon googling and hopefully by the end of the week will have a filing system and next week understand some of Lrs fundamentals in processing.

So many intricate details captured here that I don't know where to start! Love the dog best and her story but then the tree branches and the wood and the window marks and the reflections . . . Congratulations!

@maggiemae we try so hard to keep her brushed and clean but she and Lola get so very dirty out in the snow and mud. Ava has such long, curly hair, too. thank you so much for the fav. much appreciated.

@lbluejaye8 thank you, we got her from a rescue organization when my son, josh and his wife, holly were doing foster care for it and they could not find anyone who would take her because she barks at everything. but i like a dog that barks. we live in a rural area and at the time, had a dog that only barked 4 times in his entire life. he did howl now and then! ava barks when the washer goes on spin cycle. or when the computer turns on. or a dog barks on tv. she is very loud.

@leananiemand thank you. i enjoy taking photos of my pets and my grandchildren - am looking at 50 mm lenses so i can move up from my kit one. was all set to go get one but instead we bought motorcycles - LOL - my husband thinks we need to have a shared hobby.
