Refocus

A lone yellow flower weaves on the edge of the wood. I took my photos, thinking how often I, too, spend hours alone by these trees. Sometimes we are islands; we are rocks, my mind whispers as I compose my shots.
I go through my photos and look for my single blossom as I wrangle with a tiny bug in my hair. I laugh at the fuzzy white dandelion-type flower that reminds me of my cat, Ariel, at the foot of the yellow flower then notice she, too, has a bug running around in her mop of petals. Sometimes it is good to breathe deep, let go of disbelief and begin to see.
Standing tall yet not alone, this yellow flower has her partner at her back, her three children behind her and her angel at her feet. We will live forever and never be alone.
Love this; fav

That is very romantic of you, Camille, The narrative adds a lot to this gorgeous shot. Fav.

@delwynforsythe i almost always use manual focus. i used to do a great deal of b&w photography and developed my own film in my bathroom. now, i have a habit of taking at least 3 shots with different focal points - then i compare how different each one looks. it is nice with digital that i am now not wasting film and paper. it is taking me some time to get used to this long lens. some of them just come out as bokeh. i get very frustrated.

I enjoyed reading the meaning behind the photo. It's so nice to know what the photographer was thinking as the photo was taken. I am inspired.
