Snow is melting and I was able to figure out how to fix my internet problems this time all by myself but it took me awhile. I am actually waiting for new, supposedly faster internet to be installed through our phone lines. This was supposed to happen over a month ago but the person did not show up nor did anyone call to let me know that my appointment had been canceled. I was informed we need another line run outside and that the phone company can not do it so they advised me to self-install a slower router. It did not work since that, too, needs the other wire. Now they are scheduled to run the wire they claim they can not do on Thursday so I expect I will sit here all day and no one will show. Meanwhile, in my next life, if there are still satellite internet companies, I can offer my services as a very slow but will eventually get-you-there- techie.

Fingers X'd that your installer actually shows up on Thursday. Do you have cable connection to your home? Can you get a broadband cable internet connection? I'm just throwing that out there without any real knowledge of internet service. I just know how to reset our router and modem in the event something goes wrong. Good luck with getting your new service!!
And yea for sunshine! That fence post will be losing it's snow cap in short order. :)

Fixing your Internet is such a problem. Congratulations to you. Practice makes perfect, right? Great picture of the snow that is hopefully melting.

@hermann thank you so very much. so very happy to be back up and running. the tech came out, changed things around, have had a few issues in the past few days but things seem to be a-ok now. very satisfied. he was so very nice, too.

@peggysirk no, we have had no other options since this one has come along. we have had satelitte now for quite a long time and it has done ok except after this last upgrade. all ok now. very happy. thank you!

Pleased to hear...after your forbearance...that technology is working for you rather than vice versa. Delighted to read that you had a sympathetic techie to bring all to rights.
