AWOL in June

Life got busy for me in June. Very busy. And there was virtually no time left over for 365. What started out as simply taking photos of my granddaughter playing softball turned into a paying gig. My son, who coaches her team, asked me to take action shots of the rest of the team which I was happy to do for free. But then the other teams in her division all wanted action shots too and before I knew it I had more work than I could handle. I was so busy I had no time left for my own photography. It was fun and a great experience but I'm glad its over and I'm not sure I would want to do it on that scale again. Today's post of my granddaughter pitching is a sample of what I have been doing. So that is my explanation for my absence and now, hopefully, I can get back to daily posting. Although complicating things right now is a record smashing heat wave that robs one of energy and motivation

She looks like quite an athlete. I think you do terrific action shots. I can see why you were in high demand. Sorry to hear you are in that massive heat dome. We are on the southern end of it, but in California valley we are used to that in summer and have air conditioning.

The dof here is spot on! If the rest of the teams get pics like this you've earned a spot in the sports photographer's hall of fame! Excellent shot- I love the crisp focus on your granddaughter's eyes and hand. I hear you on the heat wave. I'm so glad I've got a ton of shots in recent archives right now because I didn't even feel like heating leftovers for dinner tonight thanks to the heat!
