Red Bird by cdonohoue

Red Bird

This guy and his significant other have an open invitation from me to come and make their nest in my neighbors tree. In fact, I have been encouraging them for quite some time with no luck yet. They stopped by today to visit and I literally dropped the phone on my husband to grab the camera, which, thanks to you all, has a permanent home on my kitchen table. So I'll save the shot I thought I would take for today and share the bird.
I keep trying to get a cardinal. I see them all of the time...and they run from me and my camera (or fly away real quick). My goal is to catch one this year. I came so close today. You beat me...well done:)!

Isn't he pretty? Yes, that's mainly where I keep my camera too! Thank goodness for understanding husbands!!

Hmmm, "significant other"? Are you implying that Mr. Cardinal is gay? You know, when they have Gay Days at Disney, all the fellas come dressed in red shirts. :-P

@amandalomonaco Thanks Amanda. that is why I dropped the phone. They are fast.
@soboy5 Yes it does. Thanks.
@lorraineb Yep. Good thing he understands.
@buttercup Yes. No longer in the case and that is part of what I love about this. Opened so many doors.
@cromwell Nope - I am being open and accepting - which I am anyway. Two guys just bought the house and now own this tree.
@swguevin I loved how he had his head cocked.
@doorknee71 Thanks Dawn.

They're such an amazing colour. They make the sparrows in my garden look a bit dull. ;)
