We went down to the river tonight to try and help me figure out if I like the wide angle lens. I have to admit that i am missing clarity with I zoom into the shot in Lightroom. However, you can see Great American Ballpark, home of the Cincinnati Reds all the way to the right of the photo and the outline of Paul Brown Stadium hiding behind the Roebling Suspension Bridge on the left. In between is beautiful downtown Cincinnati at dusk.
I just don't know if I would use it enough. Vacation - absolutely.
We went to see Rock of Ages this afternoon. Now anything with a monkey does it for me. Tom Cruise as an aging rocker was icing.
LOVE this shot and how could you get such a great angle without it!! Just Perfect! The focus and the reflections show off just how Beautiful the Cincinnati Skyline is! ...So the Movie was good ...:)
What a nice job you did on taking this picture, even to framing it with tree branches and leaves. The reflection in the water, everything is perfect. So do you recommend the movie, I love Tom Cruise.
This is so gorgeous... the reflections are beautiful and the way you framed it with the leaf silhouettes at the top is just wonderful! A fav for me... :)
There may be some differences at close quarters, but from out here it looks great. The sense of space you get with this lens is really something different than a "normal" lens.
Great view - the lights, skyline and reflections are wonderful!
Want to see 'Rock of Ages' but fear I've already missed it..... :( Have to wait for the dvd I guess... glad you enjoyed it :)
You did great with this shot. I bought a zoom lens for my trip to Argentina to capture Iguazu Falls...I loved it! it was great for scenery...but sometimes I still prefered the zoom lens instead. Since I got home, I have tried to make sure and use it...and I have found on close ups it does really well, and family/group shots...just make sure and get in as close as you can...
I think you should definitely keep the lens, Cathy. This is just gorgeous! Fav for sure! And, thanks for the tip on the movie. I was wondering how it would be.
I think this works spot on Cathy .. beautiful wide lens scene & you will have to make time to use it ! Poor old Tom Cruise not at his happiest at the moment!
fabulous shot! Wide angle photography is very different from what you're used to - give it a chance and you'll come to love it! I've used mine indoors and am always amazed by how much I can get into a shot and by how close to my subject I can be! There's definitely a lot to learn!
@filsie65 It is still out here. We found it hysterically funny and Tom Cruise does it well. And the man can sing. @debsulzberger Thank you Deb. @vickisfotos I need to try that as I want to find the uses that I am not thinking of. @jesperani I'm thinking it probably is..... @tishpics It is probably mine. It is all you don't think of when you buy one. I had to have a filter to protect it and then if I was thinking of daylight scenery I needed a polarizing filter.... @gerry Thank you Gerry. You are always so kind. @aurorajane Thanks so much. It is a pretty city. @redrucksack Thank you. @cindymc Thank you Cindy. I really liked it - but it is a spoof for sure. But Tom Cruise as a rocker is pretty funny all by itself. And I have a thing for monkeys. @happypat He isn't is he, but folks like that seem to find marriage as disposable. @humphreyhippo Thank you Humphrey. @timandelke I need to play indoors to find out the answer to that. Thanks so much for the suggestions. I just don't want to spend all that money for a "vacation" lens. I love the church ideas. Might try it this morning.
I have heard Tom Cruise is fabulous in Rock of Ages.
