I went to the Museum Center today with my friend Melissa, her grandson Jett and Noah. I was concerned as Noah had never met them before but we had a great time - until Noah fell into the fountain behind Melissa (pronounced Me Lisa)
She is the friend I thought I would never have. You know how most of your really close friends are the ones that you make early on in life - for me probably before my 30's. This lady came into my life about 4 or 5 years ago when she started helping with Baby Bear. She was OK, a little pushy at times. And then we started talking - I mean really talking. I can tell her almost anything - and I have. We've shared our lives on some pretty deep levels. I didn't think I would find a friend like her again in my life. We laugh a lot, and I do mean a lot. She's the one I never have to think twice about telling her a joke or calling her when something hard has happened. She is the one that took me to the shooting range at the ripe old age of 61 and she taught me to shoot a glock and how to clean it afterwards.
I love her.
You are so fortunate to have such a real friend, it was the boys name 'Noah' which drew me to your photo, I love that name, especially due to the film 'The Notebook' which must be in my top 10 films, if I had the time to list them ; )
Wonderful portrait. She sounds like a wonderful lady--so great to have a friend like that. It is funny how sometimes we meet people and don't click right away, but then it becomes a special friendship. (And I have no doubt she feels the same way about you)
Oh I love that story .... I always like your wording and thinking on things that are so important in life.... This is such a nice portrait too .... She sounds wonderful
this is a great portrait.....you can tell she is comfortable around you...it shows in the smile. I think your dof is perfect on this shot....i've written down your settings so i can try this on my own shots - - and i am so glad to hear it is possible to make such a good friend later in life - - this makes me feel hopeful!
@sticksandstones Surprised me too! But she is one of those folks that you can just talk to. The lesson is that she sort of grated on me early on and ended up becoming the rarity - a "real" friend.
