It was raining and gloomy this morning - so I was reacting to that. I'm tired of gray days. It's January and I'm fed up with it. And then the sun came out. It is warm and sunny this afternoon - and I have reacted to that. I feel better, my mood has brightened right along with the day. So, of course, I went to the cemetery to walk. It is truly amazing how many folks that you see strolling the cemetery. Some run in packs, some push strollers, some have picnics, and some, like me, have a camera in their hands. I found my doorway. For this family, in the 1800's, it was their doorway to eternity. As much as I love this place with a camera in my hands, this is not the choice that I have made.
I like that thought... doorway to eternity... I have a friend who just walked through that door... very grand entry, but nothing compared to what must lie beyond.
Beautiful! I'm glad that you have some sunshine - during these dreary winter days, Bundling up and getting out in it is what keeps me sane! I recently bought a fake fur hat with ear flaps, but it hasn't been cold enough to wear it!
It was pretty dreary here today as well but we didn't get any sun later on. Maybe tomorrow. There is something quite restful about cemeteries. It might have to do with eternal rest, but I don't know. What an impressive doorway. It might be a bit showy, but it is really a marble workers masterpiece. Lovely capture.
Cathy, this is so beautiful. You must have a gorgeous cemetery. I can see why people enjoying walking, running, etc,, through it. I'm so glad you had sunshine and that you are feeling better.
How breathtakingly beautiful. Kind of comforting to think that when our time comes, we can walk through a door like that into a beautiful world the other side. Sympathetically done Cathy... Fav.
