During my day and a half home before we returned to Indianapolis for a planned trip I went back to the butterfly show. There is nothing that I know of that soothes me quite like my camera and a room full of flowers and butterflies.
Thank you, each and every one of your, for your kind words and prayers. My wonderful first born son is now seeking some anger management skills from a pro and my DIL is looking for someone to talk to also. There is no easy fix for this family - but if they put their minds to it I believe that it isn't too late. If it is too late for them I pray that they go about this in the best interests of my grandson. I miss him so. I love getting in bed with him and having him read to me and snuggle up. I hate having him two hours away where his "bestest Memaw" can't just go scoop him up and out for a day. But I'm thankful that none of this is playing out so far away that I can't get their at all.
Just read your words above -so sorry that family life is not running as smooth as one hopes but my thoughts & prayers are with you Keep strong & do not despair x
Cathy, this is a gorgeous photograph. A fav for me. I am happy to read that your son and DIL are working on working on their problems. That is a huge step in the right direction, even if they do not find a way to stay together the help they are gettig now will get them to a point where they can separate with your grandson's best interest. Also, two hours is a lot when you feel needed but it is doable. Mine are 6 hours away from me. Ha, ha, some of my friends tell me that isn't so bad it isn't a day away... funny how it is different from a personal perspective.
I'm sorry to hear of the problems you've been facing. I offer my encouragement and prayers for your family. May they continue to heal and hopefully find peace with each other!
Now I finished reading....my heart is aching for you. But like you said, it could be even less optimal. I am sure you will stay "Bestest Memaw" and get to see alot of him. I miss my niece, but not because she is farther away...at least not farther away in miles/distance. She is now 17.5 years old. That is another type of "far away." Sigh. But she still lovers her FA (favorite aunt) ...she calls me Maymay. So cute. And she loves to hang out with me...and take photos, or go on adventures. It is just different now. I will miss her if she goes away to college next year....anyway...hang in there, Cathy!
@corgimom Thanks Debbie. @timandelke I have no clue if the love is there. I don't think they do. Seeking help for each of them is the best that I can hope for right now. And, dang it I didn't miss the last reveals of the Hunt. I got to see the shots later but not the same as waiting on them. Thank you my friend! @denisedaly Thanks Denise. I'll take all I can get. @beryl Beryl I so appreciate your kind words. Live never runs smoothly - this was just out of totally left field.
@katieannb Thank you Katie. I love the butterflies. @kwind Thank you. @sansjuan Thank you Nita. Thank God it is only two hours. Those were the longest two hours I can remember to get there this time. @smellychelli Thank you Michelle. I'll take all the prayers I can get for this situation. @elisasaeter Thank you Elizabeth. @brav Thanks, Richard. @henrir Thank you for the Fav Henri. @jessca646 Thanks, Jessica.
@carolmw Thanks for the fav Carol. Much appreciated. @tishpics Thanks, Patricia. I'm glad to be home to gain some perspective. @wind_of_the_sothern_sea Thank you so much, Arefin. @psychographer Lisa thank you for caring. My heart is doing better. I'm hoping they can mend theirs for all three of them.
@espyetta The growing up and missing is a different kind of ache. Hope your niece and you stay close. I never in a million years thought I'd get a call like that. But they are all doing what is best in seeking help. Now we will have to wait. I'm so very glad that I am my age and happy and not living the drama in my daily life. Today two hours away is a good thing. I need some down time.
@cdonohoue Yes, it is a natural progression....a positive thing. What you are experiencing, what they are experiencing ..is not. I really feel for you. Praying that it all comes out as good for everyone as we can imagine it would. :0)
Beautiful shot - and hold on to hope, it sounds as if everyone is working on this, and sometimes being able to visit rather than in the middle of it is a help too. x
Haha, I find trying to photograph butterflies far from soothing! Perhaps because I never set aside the time that is really needed, But this shot is definitely an inspiration, it's beautiful!
