Who would have thought it? We really are living our dream. We've talked of traveling our entire lives. And we did - a little south and a bit north. We've dreamed of the west for a very long time. It was brought home to me that it is really now or never. For some reason we aren't getting any younger - and that's fine. We are both happy to be ourselves - as long as we are together. This year we took two trips to spend time in all of the National Parks that we could manage. And, we've seen marvelous things. Who would have thought I'd get my first pair of hiking boots at 63 - and I'm getting them pretty dusty. Arches National Park is just outside of Moab, Utah. It is in the desert and summer temps are way too hot for me. We had great weather in October. Close to mid 70's for day time and a distinct cool off at night. We are now researching Yellowstone and Glacier to figure out where we are headed next year.
Cathy, many of us are doing just that! Full time RV'ers have lots of fun and see and meet lots of people, maybe we will see you down the road on our travels. BTW the WEST is best! Just my opinion. I spent most all of the summer on the Oregon coast and fell in love. I have traveled the US a lot and still prefer the West /Coast to anywhere else in the US. Originally from Michigan I revered their fall most of all. Safe journeys!
Wonderful! I love my hiking boots! I got them last year when we went to Alaska for our 30th Anniversary! They are falling apart now and that's a good thing :)
We will all enjoy seeing the Parks through your pictures! I just recently purchased a bicycle (after not riding for like 35 years) as my husband likes to ride - we just returned from our first vacation with the bikes - so this shows that we are never too old to hike or bike or whatever! Enjoy your travels and I hope to be out there soon myself!
So happy for you! You absolutely must see Glacier! We took a two week trip last summer and drove through Minnesota, N. Dakota and Montana, stayed in Glacier for a week then came back through Yellowstone and the Badlands. We saw Roosevelt National Park, Devil’s Tower, Mt. Rushmore, Wall Drug, and the Corn Palace. Fantastic trip. Your trip is on my bucket list now! (Don’t go to Glacier any earlier than mid-July or the Going to the Sun Road might not be completely plowed!)
@rmkgreene yep, West Coast is the best coast as we say!
