It's the time of year when everyone is nicer. Folks nod and smile and let others pull in front of them in traffic. Folks attend a few more church services or holiday performances. Most of us experience some lift from the holidays - no matter what you celebrate.
As we get older the holidays are a two edged sword. We watched a commercial for a Christmas classic last night and found ourselves wishing the boys were young again; the "boys" are 46 and 41! We sat and listened to the music tract that we heard playing at the zoo last night and talked about our parents and how much we miss them. It is more poignant at the holidays.
