Baby Bear took it's last breaths today. I'm feeling good about it as it will be reincarnated by Carmel Presbyterian for missions that are already in place just a few miles from us. We had folks gather this morning from both congregations that packed clothing, diapers, toiletries, books, and toys in vans and cars and transported our Baby to it's new location. They will be coming later to get all of the shelving.
So, the adoption papers are signed and the Baby is gone. I am trying to just celebrate that and know that I can go to the new home and just be a volunteer. I think that the curtain call (just lucky our freight elevator has curtains) is perfect to be watched over by Kenny. He was the most awesome volunteer that had all of the patience in the world to fit tiny feet when someone from our congregation brought us 150 or so pairs of new shoes in all sizes. It isn't easy to fit children, but Kenny's patience and good humor had little ones laughing.
I kept catching myself from saying "we do it this way." The Baby is no longer ours and someone else will nurture growth and walk the floors while they search for ways to help it grow strong again. I wish the Godspeed.
