Sorry I didn't get around to uploading this yesterday. I was doing my screening colonoscopy - so I was busy. Turns out that March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month so they had a display in the waiting room. I had some time to snap this before it was my turn. If you are the right age and have not had a colonoscopy, do it for me. Do it for yourself! My father in law would still be here trying to teach my basketball rules if he wouldn't have been so stubborn. We all have stories like this one. They have made this test and the prep so much easier through the years that I have been getting them. I had a polyp early on and they impressed on me that it was the kind that could have become malignant. It's long gone and I intend to be happily shooting pictures for many years to come with a clean colon.
Nice message for everyone to take seriously.

My husband had bowel cancer about 8 years ago, so I'm aware of always checking out

I have never had a colonoscopy but do take part in the tests that come through the post. If those tests are ok you would have to pay for one privately so I am hoping the tests are accurate. Good fir you & peace of mind.

@happypat I think that is the difference in our health care.

@cdonohoue Yes I think so. We aren't used to paying for anything so we go down the NHS route. If we wanted to go rivate as we call it I think you still have to be revered by a doctor. There are private clinics where you can go for expensive body checks & tests but they are very expensive. I am waiting fir an ultrasound scan at the moment. I have been waiting one month up to now, if I was seriously worried I think I would have asked to be referred by now but hopefully it will be soon. Our NHS is seriously underfunded at the moment & is in crisis. We keep going though!

@happypat our "national" health care is a joke. I pay for Medicare and a supplement. Tom is younger so his healthcare package is costing over $600 a month until he reaches 65. I hope your ultrasound comes through soon.

What a clever way to shed a little light on a serious subject. No pun intended

@cdonohoue Wow that is a terrible amount to pay each month, how do people afford it! Everyone grumbles a lot about our health service but we don't know when we're lucky! Harry & I can't fault it at all. We never pay a penny, even prescriptions are free for our age group. We can pay if we want to but unless you're desperate the NHS is fine. There have been terrible waiting queues in A&he this winter & its creaking at the sides but we keep plodding on. I think they should make people pay a token amount as some people seem to call in at the hospital for a headache! It needs an overhaul & thinning down at the top perhaps! That's my opinion anyway but others will say different. I can only go by our experiences.

Good for you. :)

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. I also had some polyps removed but due to digestive problems have had to change my whole diet. I hope this didn't interfere with your lifestyle too much xx
