When I lived in near the beach, that was my happy place, but I bet I can find some neat places around here. If only I had hours with a book (and bug spray), and if only this was public property too....
This shot was taken by accident. It was completely over exposed. There was something magical about the way the shadows were contrasting though and I couldn't delete it. Honestly, this is my favorite photo I have taken in LONG time. I was thinking about putting my camera away, except for jobs or special occasions. This mistake has renewed my energy for MY art. I cannot even describe how good it feels, as I have been quite sad about the artistic side of things lately.
PS It really best viewed large, if you have an extra 10 seconds or so...
I love it too, Courtney ... there is a special quality about the lighting and color tone! I finally did my "favorite photo" yesterday in the rain and mist. It didn't go over well on the site ... so have felt a little uninspired today. Does one keep pushing for the photos that they LOVE or just give up. I don't know anymore. I know how you feel tho ... it does lift one's heart when it happens. Magical, like you said.
I can always find an extra 10 seconds for your shots... :)
This is lovely - I'm so glad you got your camera out - I'd like to sit out there with a good book too, it looks so peaceful
