Spotted this carving beside one of the "hill houses" across from the lake. It seems to have been there quite a while, and looks down stoically upon all the activities on the lake... maybe comforting, maybe creepy - I haven't quite decided yet...
I could see it as either comforting or creepy. One thing's for sure, though... it's really neat!!

I agree.... it probably depends on the lighting. In this shot it looks rather welcoming, with the bright light and greenery around it. However, in semi-darkness it would be pretty creepy!

Great angle for this shot...somehow this totem seems to have a history...maybe good, maybe creepy, but I think it must have been mostly good.

I would say that most totem poles have dual personalities -- one creepy / one good.
This photo certainly goes with this week's theme.

I agree that this totem probably has dual personalities. I certainly see some eeriness lurking in that face!
