I have a fascination with old-style Barber Shops, although I don't remember ever actually being inside one... I just like looking in the window when they're closed and empty! This is one of my favorites: Emory's Barber Shop in downtown Kent, Ohio.
I love the lighting!

It is like a blast from the past. I have not been to a barber since the late 60,s. Short back and side!!

I have fond memories of the old barber shop. That was a tradiiton for me when I was real young. My Dad would take me and afterwards we would visit Grandma & Grandpa. I also remember the old razor strap, not so fond.

This is very cool! It looks like it's straight out of an Andy Griffith or Leave it to Beaver show, lol

This is gorgeous. I love the athmosphere. I think this is even nicer now than when it would be open. Lovely shot Cindy.

Its a great shot and I agree, they are great :-) Hey, do they have those red and white striped poles outside like they do here too? I think its traditional?

I can see why you are fascinated, Cindy. It's a feast for the eyes and the imagination. Everything has such a vintage feel to it. Reminds me of the Andy Griffith Show. Love those white sinks and those chairs!

Not too many old style barber shops left around here; they're all "salons" with stylists now.

Oh, and I meant to say great capture of the atmosphere too.

Oh, how funny. Deb and I always have to stop and peek in old barbershop windows, too. Yep, and sometimes even take a pic or two. This is a wonderful old one with the tile flooring and red chairs.

What a wonderful shot, it could be a snapshot right out of the 1950's

I love the empty and "ready" look of this photo. You could write a story to go with this.
