January 15

Tonight, we had the priviledge of joining over 150 friends and family members to celebrate the 100th birthday of my sister's father-in-law, Harold Milligan. Harold was born 1-15-1911, and lived a life of service to his family and his community. He and his wife, Peg, were married for 77 years, until she passed away in 2007. They raised three children and have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Harold delivered milk by horse-drawn carriage for his family's dairy, served six terms as mayor of Struthers, Ohio, and worked for many years at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube steel mill. He was also a Scout Master and School Board member. Harold still lives in and cares for his own home, and is an active member of his church, the Struthers Historical Society, and the Youngstown Garden Club. He still starts hundreds of vegetable and annual flower plants from seed in his basement nursery and shares them with family, friends, and neighbors. What an inspiration! Happy birthday, Harold - and may you have many more!
What an amazing story and sounds like quite a man. Good living and a long life.

Happy Birthday, Harold! He sounds like such a wonderful, interesting man. I can only hope that if I live to his age, I'm still as active and independent as he is!

Amazing! Happy birthday to Harold. In the commonwealth when we reaches 100 we get a telegram from the monarch. Do you all get one from the president?
