Nature Forms in My Own Yard

Forms in Nature- Day 7
I am participating in the "Flash of Red" challenge- Black and white photography for the month of February with a flash of red on February 14. The theme for the first 8 days is "Forms in Nature." I took this photo today of orchids blooming on the Live Oak Tree in my own yard.
Beautiful in black and white.

@carlasmith1990 @judithdeacon Thank you for your comments. I have several different types of orchids growing on our oak trees. I love it when they are in bloom.

The shapes are harmonious and intriguing. Having a picture in b&w allows to better focus on the flower forms. I am amazed that you have these flowers in your own garden.

@randystreat @wendyfrost @etienne Thank you so much for your comments on my orchid photo. I used to think that orchids would be too fussy and difficult to keep growing, until a man at our local nursery reminded me that our weather and humidity here in South Florida is very much like that of Hawaii and that they grow wild in Hawaii. When I get a new orchid and the flowers die, I tie them unto our oak trees with wet moss and floral tape until the roots grow into the bark of the tree (then I remove the tape). I have a number of them growing on the trees our yard. They bloom over and over again. I do believe they are now my favorite flower.
