Rock Garden

Shape/Form, Lines, Texture, Pattern, and/or Light- Day 28

I am participating in the "Flash of Red" challenge- Black and white photography for the month of February with a flash of red on February 14. The theme for the week is based on the use of shape/form, line, texture, pattern, and/or light. Part of a rock garden in my neighbor's front yard.
Nicely captured and great textures

Hey Caroline, I like your flash of red project! In this picture, I like especially how you use the light. We are Get Pushed partners this week. What do you think about capturing something or someone that is moving?

@toinette Hi, Marie. Forgive my late response. I am glad to be your Get Pushed partner. Yes, I will try to capture something or someone that is moving this week. Could you take a picture of someone (either another person or a selfie of yourself) using lighting in an interesting way (either natural outdoor lighting or lighting indoors)?

@chejja I'll try that, thank you!

@frappa77 Hi. Glad to be partnered with you and, yes, I do intend to participate so I am anxiously waiting my next challenge from you.

@chejja
Wonderful! This is my challenge for you: to shoot light trails... Let me know if is ok for you, if not, I have already something else in mind for you... :)

@frappa77 I would love to try to photograph light trails. However, it would be a huge challenge. First, I'd have to see about a tripod. I have never used one, but it looks like I would need to for this. Someone gave me awhile back, but it doesn't have a mounting pad on it, and I am not even sure if it is sturdy enough to hold my rather heavy camera. At the least, I'd have to buy a mounting pad so I can attach my camera, and I had never used a Remote shutter release before. I'm not sure if I have one. I'm really going to try to do it though. How about if you let me know what your second optional challenge is. I will only use it if I find that I'm absolutely stuck and can't do the first. 'Cause wouldn't it be great if I actually could! For your challenge, how about trying to photograph smoke or something that includes a burning candle. Would that work for you?

@chejja
Hy Caroline! My other proposal is to show a portion of your day in a reflection...
Feel free to choose indifferently one of the two options...
Love your challenge for me: I have tried to photograph smoke only once, I'm happy to give it another go!

@frappa77 Hi. As you saw, I went with your second challenge because I don't have the right equipment to attempt the first. But, I do like the idea of trying to photograph light trails. I'm going to keep that in the back of my mind to attempt sometime in the future when I am better equipped to do so.

@chejja
I'm sure you'll enjoy and fulfill it without any problem...
