There is such beautiful architecture in Prague, that it is difficult to choose just one photo to represent this day. However, I do like this photo I took of the Astronomical Dial on the Prague mechanical clock, also known as the "Prague Orloj." The dial represents the position of the sun and moon in the sky, as well as various other astronomical details. The medieval Astronomical Dial is believed to have been first installed on the side of the Old Town Hall of Prague in 1410, making it the third oldest astronomical clock in the world, and the oldest still in operation. An additional calendar dial, decorative statues, and the wooden statues that perform "The Walk of the Apostles" when the clock strikes, as well as the crowing rooster, were added later. Besides seeing the clock strike from the ground below, I later climbed the tower where I was able to look through a large window behind the clock and view the mechanism and movement of the statues up close.
@randystreat Ha-ha! Good catch. I didn't change the time on my camera when I was over in Europe. Prague is 6 hours ahead of us, so it was actually taken at 10:09 am local Prague time.
