I consider myself an advanced beginner in knitting and crocheting. I'm trying to commit more time to my yarn projects and thought it would be cool to incorporate one of my hobbies into my 52 Week Self-Portrait project (the focus of my Sunday 365 pics). Although my stash is small I love the colors and textures. Sadly it's also another hobby that can quickly and easily suck up time and money.
You should have been with me at the alpaca farm, Michelle. She had incredible yarns from the fur . . beautiful colors and incredible quality. My daughter knits and I know how expensive that little hobby can be too! I love this photo and the colors. AND it's a great selfie. :)
karenann, thanks! There's a great yarn shop near my home but it's sort of out of the way and has odd hours...which is how I end up with "mainstream" yarn...plus I feel I need to hone my skills on cheap yarn before moving up to the good stuff. @karenann
those are really nice skeins of yarn! Very inviting looking!! I crochet also. I have been buying a little here and there and making squares, all shades of green. I don't know how it will turn out in the end, but I didn't want to spend alot by getting a bunch at one time.
Julie...are you using all the squares in one piece? Green is my favorite color! Good luck with your project. @julie
Thank you Moira! It's really weird seeing myself in different angles in these selfies...this should be a very interesting year for my self-portrait project @moirab
