How good are you with roman digits?

Which year is this?
how long do you need to read it... I strugle every time...
There are lot of buildings in city centre with dates of construction. I spent some time today trying to photograph them, and chose this one. It might be a nice task to get several of them together in a collage...

I would have said 1943- but I'm not really good with regular numbers, let alone Roman numerals! Nice shot!

@novab, Ha ha, you made me lough... whenever I come across those numbers I need like a lot of time to figure out some of the digits. Sometimes it turns out to be an interesting puzzle.
