The recognition

Croatian flag on my mother's building - more precisely on a window of my childhood room. It was a nice place to grow up.
It is not a holiday in Croatia today, but stil citizens have put out the flags, because we celebrate a day when most of world countries (among others entire EU) recognized and accepted Republic of Croatia as legitimate, free and independent state. That happened in 1992. when part of Croatia was occupied by Serbian formations and many of our cities like Dubrovnik and Osijek... were under constant fire. Lot of guys were out there defending our freedom and fighting heavily for independence and peace. And in the middle of the war chaos this recognition meant a lot. I lived in this building at that time.
Nicely composed shot!Happy anniversary to Croatia. Visiting is on my bucket list.

I just finished reading a book on WWII and was astounded to learn of the hardships the folks in Eastern Europe endured. So many brave men and women.
