What was first, Orange color or the fruit? by cherrymartina

What was first, Orange color or the fruit?

This is easy. Fruit was named first. I got curious when I decided to post this delicious fruit how hard would it be to find the answer. It was really easy. I guess it is logical that food got named first, but I never really thought of it until now. It is the same in my language, both the fruit and color have the same name, and I guess it is the case with other languages as well.
Great colour and comp

Fav. Great capture. Very innovative. Fav. By the way the fruit Orange is differently named in different countries. As students from different countries years ago we realised this. In India we call a tangerine an orange. The fruit in your photo here we call Malta as they arrived here from Malta!

@veengupta, Thank you for comments and following. This is interesting info about orange, but I am not really surprised. we have different local meanings for some fruits within a country, which gets confusing sometimes. :)
