Limonium narbonense (Sea Lavander) by cherrymartina

Limonium narbonense (Sea Lavander)

Beautiful, delicate flower that grows by the sea, and needs salted water to grow even more then soil which is very poor here on this rocky shore. I had hard time choosing a photo to show the flower, the habitat and surrounding in the same image, and then the bee came into the picture which made it even harder to choose. I am wondering if the honey they make has a salty taste to it. I don't think so, but it was interesting to see how many bees come to flowers bound with sea weed, and salt crystals just feet from a sea. In high tide the flowers end up in the sea, but I don't have a good photo to show it, so you will have to trust me. This is a small collection of photos I gathered on my morning walks this year. I wish to get a macro lens for the next year. I hope you enjoy this little collage of pure untouched nature... Bit of rocks and water, bit of flowers and bees...
