Every time we camp out in Pinckney, we have to pay a visit to Hell. It's a fun little city with a general store, post office, and ice cream shop. We always get ice cream no matter what and you can buy a post card and they will burn the edges for you before they send it off. Halloween is an especially fun time of year there, as you can imagine.
We had an awful storm go through camp on this day so we drove into Hell. No fun being deep in the woods during a severe thunderstorm. When we got back to camp, the winds had ripped our tie down stakes for our awning out of the ground and bent one of our poles. One of the other poles almost went through the screen of our popup. It always takes a while to get things all cleaned up after a storm rolls through Crooked Lake Campground. It's mostly sand and very hilly so things were quite a mess.
I've heard of this "town" (sounds now more like cross roads), so what fun to encounter someone who's "had the pleasure"! That's quite a story about your camping trip! Given the damage, it's just as well you didn't have to weather it! Makes you appreciative of our pioneers who went through the likes of that without being able to go to Hell and back!
Great shot :)
