Finally done editing the last of my photos from vacation. This is the dock at Crooked Lake and it was Friday morning, our last day there. There is a HUGE snapping turtle that lives under this dock but I never did get a picture of him. We don't normally go to State Parks to camp but this is one of the very few rustic campgrounds in Southeastern Michigan. It's only an hour from home so we make an exception. We normally like to camp in State or National "Forest" Campgrounds where there are no hosts and there is a pole where you stick your payment envelope. Pinckney Recreation Area is 11,000 acres.
Pinckney Recreation Area is a paradise for backpackers, mountain bikers, anglers and other recreation enthusiasts. Pinckney is known for its extensive trail system and chain of excellent fishing lakes. Twenty-six miles of multi-use trail with remote campsites afford a backcountry experience.
This photo is beautiful. I did follow your link to your FB album; you certainly have lots of absolutely gorgeous photos. I could not pick a favorite -- the butterfles, the dragonflies, the skies & clouds were all fabulous.
