First Monarch caterpillar for 2012

Next to a grain of rice for size comparison. You can see his egg shell next to him. They hatch and then eat their shell and then start eating the milkweed leaf.

Nice shot. I look forward to your 2012 butterflies. I'm just getting into them this year with my new Kaufman field guide. We have so many Red Admirals around this year, they are everywhere. Took a nice picture of a Juvenal's Duskywing today but the dragonfly was a nicer shot. I may post it later.
