Mauao from Kulim Park by chikadnz

Mauao from Kulim Park

We had appointments in town and then grocery shopping to do this morning but as we were expecting rain later in the day, we thought it a good idea to look for photo opportunities on the way home. The cloud was thickening but there was a bright patch over Mauao (Mt Maunganui). This extinct volcanic cone is a well-known landmark in the area.
I managed to catch the tide out again. Sometime soon I will have to photograph a colour version with the tide in, and a blue sky with white fluffy clouds, just to prove we do have those days too.
Very moody. Looks awesome on black!

It does look great on black, the subject is very clear and lighting/contrast both draws and keeps the interest. Very nice!
