Today is officially the first day of winter in our part of the world, and we are travelling south to visit family in Taupo and Napier for the long weekend (Queens Birthday).
We stopped at this spot to maintain one of our geocaches, and for the view, before the rain set in later in the weekend. Looking across Lake Taupo, the mountains in the distance are Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngaruhoe.
