I originally started a Project 365 back in October 2009 - on the day after our wedding. I sort of lost steam just when one of my college friends was getting into Project 365 and sharing her photos on FaceBook through 365project.org.
it was exactly what I needed: an easy way to pick a photo and jot down some thoughts AND some accountability from sharing with friends who are also participating.
