Does cold water have something to do with it? Your perspective and beauitufl lighting create a lot of interest!

At first I thought you were hitting the martinis ;-)

@aspada Haha - that's not a bad idea - but It's only 1:45 in the afternoon here. Maybe I could say it's time for a martini in Lake Como so I can start early!

@aspada exactly.
@cindi if it is after noon than it is martini time.

I'm in the Lake Como time zone and I'm about to fall over so you should be having a martini now. I'm not sure about the lilies, but if you take a scallion and create slice of the bottom of it and place it into ice water, the slices will curl. The you can use it as a fantastic garnish for your Thai meals. I just picked that all somewhere along the way. Love the photo!

That's cool! Last year I had some dandelions stems that split and curled like that. :-)

That's pretty interesting, and makes for a cool subject.

I don' t know why either but they look lovely. Nicely shot. :)

they look lovely, and the light is amazing - do you want to know why? it's to do with how much the cells inside the stem can expand compared with the outside cells which have more rigid cell walls - the inside cells expand more in water without the outside or the plant keeping them in check.

Wow, that is different. Nice capture.
