Meet the neighbour

photo 496
This lovely lady has been my neighbour for the past 8 years and we still don't know each other's names! We chat over the fence (so to speak) and when we see each other on the street. You wouldn't believe she was a grandmother, with several grand children and a large family that I often see making the most of her huge garden, playing football, practicing with the sikh sword, preparing food and praying to the tree spirit ( I might be wrong). As I am a sun lover I am always sitting on my balcony overlooking their garden so the fact that they have put up with me compromising their privacy makes them great neighbours.

Lovely portrait - you may not know her name, but at least you speak to her - which is more than can be said for me and my neighbours.

@islawight Too much living in London for you lot!! You need a sabbatical in a 'talk to anybody place' - I suggest Nottingham - you can't move there for people striking up conversation!! Whata great portrait though = she looks like she enjoyed it!

What a lovely portrait! Caught my eye right away. I love the colors from her scarf and the stripey background. Not to mention that she looks like she has such spirit!

Wonderful portrait. Have you hsare it with her? Does she know about your 365 project? Isn't it amazing how we can share a feeling of camaraderie with people and yet fail to know their names?
