Two trains, different final destinations - the red one is the Komachi for Akita, the green goes all the way to Hokkaido. I took the green to Hirosaki in Aomori. Oh and that's a 700 series in the background just to trifecta things up a bit.
@cityhillsandsea -- sadly not much snow this year, so the castle people were scraping together what they could to make the lanterns. I'm catching up on our Japan trip photos so stay tuned! Had delicious apple pie, of course :)
