New Camera, Old Glass

My mother recently pulled out some of my father's old photography equipment, including a Nikkor 24mm/2.8 lens. I wasn't sure if it would work with my D750, but it fit perfectly without any adaptor. I took it out on a hike at Torrey Pines this morning...have you ever heard of speed golf? This was like speed photography--trying to cover my usual distance, but with lots of stops along the way to take photos. I took about a hundred shots and, so far, this one is my favorite. It required very little editing (the overcast sky was amazing), other than lowering the highlights and cropping to get rid of pretty heavy vignetting. This might have been the most fun I've had in a long time--combining two of my favorite things, hiking and photography. Plus, I felt like my dad was with me the whole time, patiently waiting for me to get the shot, helping me to see vistas and trees worth capturing. This is exactly the kind of thing we would've done together if he were still here.
I just have to fav, your story touched me, your dad, your love of hiking and photography! Great sand (?) or rock (?) pines!

@overalvandaan Thank you so much, Saxa! I first learned how to operate a SLR from my dad--using his well-travelled Nikon from the '70s. He passed away 20 months ago, but this photography project has definitely kept him even closer to my heart. Thank you for your sweet words!
