What I like about it is not the light, but the story this picture tells - If I wouldn't have "known" your daughters, I would have been intrigued by all what's going on in this picture - they seem "on their own" in their little, but completely content and perfect universe - so united (the hair, the pose, the gaze in the same direction, the color of the clothes), but yet each of them having so much individuality - sports t-shirt vs. the princess-looking dress. That's the fun in this picture for me.

I was originally trying to get a defined starburst over their heads, but when I increased the aperture enough to get it, I lost all the detail and the image was far too underexposed. And then I found this one, where Selah just seems to be melting into her big sister. One of the reasons I wanted so much to adopt again when Olivia was little (and for why I chose to go back to Ethiopia instead of adopt elsewhere) was for exactly this moment--they are united in their physical similarities, but so unique individually. And they'll always have each other--just like any other siblings. Thank you for your lovely and thoughtful response...
