Dressed for Success (Haiti 2017 Series)

These tiny students were impeccably dressed and groomed and ready to learn on Monday morning as they lined up to say the pledge of allegiance. Knowing the conditions where many of these children live--and the fact that there is no electricity or indoor plumbing in the town--makes their appearance even more inspiring. I've never really understood the requirement of uniforms to attend schools in developing countries--it seemed to be more of an expensive barrier to poorer families than anything else. I'm slowly learning, however, that the uniform and the care taken is a reflection of their respect of both education and their educators.

Those bloomers though...!
Omg...and the fancy socks too....great photo
