Went over my uncle's house today and he raises pigeons. These aren't your run of the mill, city pigeons though. These are bred for showmanship, to soar and do amazing flips in the sky as well as have certain feathers prized by enthusiasts (such as speckled feathers and golden/brown feathers are especially valuable).
They inherently pass on such skills to their offspring, who in turn may also have certain feathers or flipping skills. As a result, my uncle can't take the city pigeons who were nesting on our balcony, who may eat French fries and other food lying around. His pigeons purely eat feed that's designed to keep them disease-free and clean. My uncle even has many squabs and eggs that are getting ready to hatch. It's truly interesting to see how a bird that's normally cast aside as common can be treated with much love and care.
~Been busy so still playing the catch up game as regards to uploading my photos, so hope to be done sometime this week.
