Yesterday I photographed water falling but today I wanted to catch the impact as it hits the water. In fact, I caught the rebound, where a small drop of water comes up out of the water after impact.
Now this shot wasn't taken over my sink. Instead, I took a glass pan and set up a plastic bag full of water above the pan. I poked a small hole into the bag with a toothpick and had a steady stream of water drops falling in the same location. That way it would be easier to focus instead of a bunch of water droplets dropping all over the place. It took over 400 shots but I finally got a clear one! :D
Still haven't tried this or the crown its on my list once if I ever get time !. Really nice job love the silky feel to the water and the frozen motion, having played around with wage this week I can now appreciate the focus and capturing the action at just the right time. Great job. I Also like the glimmering light reflection towards the back. Great idea by the way for the water bag.
@shaunasauna7 - Thank you Shauna! I don't have a macro lens but I do have a macro adaptor. It snaps on to the front of the lens and adds more magnification. I took a photo of it in my project here: http://365project.org/cjphoto/365/2013-09-03
@tahoemb - Thanks so much for the nice comment and fav! Basically it's a drop of water falling from above and I used my macro lens, a fast shutter speed, and my flash to freeze the motion as it made impact. You have to just keep shooting as many photos as possible and hope to capture something clear and good.
