Nothing quite says spring in California like the smell of jasmine flowers. This type is called the Star Jasmine due to it's shape. They're grown in large bunches around here and can fill an entire area with a pleasant, sweet smelling fragrance. When looking at this flower, I think of all the people I know named Jasmine. In fact, I think that's the most common name of many of my friends. :)
