My Toy Photo today shows off my Pikachu collection, the mascot of the Pokémon franchise. You may have heard of Pikachu but have you've ever wondered where its name comes from? Pikachu is an electric mouse Pokémon, therefore, his name is derived from a combination of two sounds in Japanese culture: pika, a sound an electric spark makes, and chu, a sound a mouse makes. Put them together and you have...Pikachu! His Japanese developers worked hard to create a name that would be appealing to both Japanese and American audiences. It can be fun name to say! As you can tell from my photo, Pikachu come many sizes and I've always loved their yellow color. (o^-^o)
