First things first: Thank you all so much for the amazing comments of yesterday's photo. I wasn't expecting all the kind remarks! You guys are the best!
For the letter "H" in my Technique Alphabet, my goal was to try an HDR image for the first time. At the most basic level, an HDR photo is combination of images taken at different exposure levels and then mashed together with HDR software to create a better picture. Kind of like what I did on "Letter E" day with exposure compensation, but this time, I used the bracketing setting on my camera. This changed the exposure of the camera each time the shutter was pressed. After merging the images together, I played around with contrast and shadows in Lightroom to get the look I wanted.
This was my first time and I could probably do better but the details look pretty cool! Whether you like HDR or not, it's just another among the many techniques we photographers love to have fun with. ◠‿◠
I had to fav this -- HDR is very tricky. I love using it, as you know, but it's hard to avoid making it look rather fake. You did a great job with this one -- upping the detail perfectly while keeping it within the realm of realistic.
Love this alphabet theme of yours, Chris. 'H' and they're all very strong so far! The pressure's on!! Lovely line (pun not intended) lovely composition and perfect processing.
