Thank you all so much for the recent comments you guys left on my photos. Too sweet!
Like yesterday, we have another work of art using candy. These candies are called Starburst and they actually make great clay for sculptures because they're soft, chewy, and sticky!
Chris, your images crack me up! I remember a movie long ago where the main character got to design toys! (Was it "Big"? ) I think that career would suit you as well! I love your blissfully happy nature!
PS...I once had a cat named Chewie (can't recall how we spelled it!) I was working at an animal hospital at the time and she was abandoned there. We'd been told the word was Swahili for "lion"!
@grammyn Thanks Katy! This 365 site is *just the best*! *Leopard* would have been a fitting name for her; she was beautiful! Sorry I was so ignorant about this for so long! And "Chui"...yes, that's how we spelled it back then!
@Weezilou No reason to apologize. How often do you get a chance to use Swahili? I only know because I just got back from visiting Tanzania in November and I wanted to use the Swahili name for the animals i saw on safari in my album.
First I have to answer that burning question: I did NOT chew beforehand. It's funny, like some of you, my sister thought I did too and said a loud "ewwwwww" on seeing my creation. The candy is very easy to mold if it easy too cold. :)
Big thanks you guys for all your wonderful comments! Happy to make you smile!
@grammyn - Thank you very much Katy! And thanks for the lesson in Swahili too!
@Weezilou - Yes, I remember the movie Big! Designing toys would be the most awesome job ever! Maybe one day!
@racmat - I know right! The cashiers do wonder why I'm buying so much candy but they probably think it's for a party. I'd love to hear your request and perhaps I can try it!
@alinz - I don't actually remember that (maybe I was too young) but I did see that they used to called Opal Fruits when I looked up their history! Pretty cool!
@aikiuser - Thank you very much Jenn! And thanks for the follow too! I'm loving your album as well! :)
Now Starburst are one of the few non-chocolate candies that I actually like! I always got them at the movies. The strawberry was my favorite, so Miss Chewy might be an endangered species in my home as cute as she is!
And my "uncle-in-law" (mother-in-law's brother) was a toy designer for real! He worked for Hasbro I think.
