Did you know, until the 1770s, most people used de-crusted, moistened and balled bread up as erasers? That's right! Bread! While it was cheap and plentiful, it wasn't too practical as the bread would mold and rot.
Interestingly, the engineer who invented our common everyday erasers claims to have come upon it accidentally. He picked up a piece of rubber instead of breadcrumbs by mistake and realized rubber's erasing properties! Ha! :D
~Thanks for bearing with me as I catch up on my project! Still battling this cold but getting much better! Mainly just super congested now. But I'm having a blast reading you guys comments, well wishes, and remedies!! Almost there! :)
Clever concept, terrific execution, and fabulous information. If you can do all of this while you were sick just think of what you can do once you get better again!
@nickspicsnz - Hahaha actually I have tons of pencils and their erasers are at different levels so it was really easy to do. But if I didn't I was totally prepared to erase for hours to get this photo.
@grammyn - I know!! There are pictures I wanna go out and take but I don't because I feel terrible. But I'm getting back in action now. Thanks so very much for the kind remarks Katy!
