Hey guys, this is CJ the Legographer here. Big Chris is very busy today so I'm posting for him. A few days ago he took a photo of the ocean off Long Beach's Pacific Coast but the City of Long Beach also has some interesting buildings. This is one of my favorites, the Long Beach Arena. You'd think it would house the city's aquarium but that's located in a totally different building. A hockey team used to play here but now it's mainly used for ice skating performances, concerts, and other very important events.
The mural was painted by Robert Wyland, who paints many marine murals without compensation all over the world to draw attention to the environment. Everything in the mural portrays the actual size of its subjects! Amazing...makes me feel even smaller in this big world! :)
All shucks, thank you guys so much! It was a fun taking a photo this beautiful mural and helping Big Chris out for the day too!
@vankrey - Yes definitely gonna have to make greeting cards of these locations one day soon! Big Chris and I have plans to find more locations throughout LA so stay tuned. :D
Awesome picture of you CJ. The arena is a perfect backdrop for Chris's series of blue photographs this month. Fascinating information about the mural and the size of it.
