Today I visited the South Coast Botanical Gardens in Palos Verdes, CA. It is one of the world’s first botanical gardens to be developed over a sanitary landfill.
Now it's filled with flowers and butterflies. Best of all, ORANGE butterflies! They were very skittish so it was tough to get a good shot. That is, until I found this large bush of orange flowers. They loved this spot. Orange butterflies and orange flowers...perfect combo for my monthly theme! :)
What stunning clarity and color you've captured in this! I've loved your whole month of orange so far but it may be hard to top this as my favorite. :)
If I could think of more to add, I would. Just lovely. (Are you sure you didn't just make this all up and the entire thing is really plastic...too good to be true!!)
I'm truly shocked to check my feed and see all your comments, favs, and that this photo make the Pop Page! I'm truly humbled by the response and thank you all very much for the positive feedback...and the orange puns!
@granagringa - Haha, that's right, I'm usually posting subjects who are plastic and stuffed...but I assure you she's very real! Although a plastic butterfly would be very fun to play with. :D
@stephanies - Thank you Stephanie! We'll see, I'm just really happy this photo made everyone else happy looking at it. Love nature and the special ways it makes us smile.
the colours and subject matter are delightful
