The kids are at the babysitter so this is the perfect night for a date...except for the rain! She doesn't seem super happy about it but the umbrella and being next to her man does help. :)
A. Maz. Ing. !!!! I had to force myself to realize this is just paper clips because you have done it so well. Fabulous capture of the rain and the drops too.
Your story telling is so intriguing...and then I have to go back and look at the photography because I get so engrossed in the story and how clever it is. sorry I haven't commented regularly but I have been watching...your processing to get rid of the props that keep things in place is amazing...your backgrounds, your use of vignettes, the angles and proportions you use...I just love it all! and now...how did you make it rain? I'm guessing a hose? Ok, that's it for now...sorry, can't come up with a single pun...:)
Aww, you guys, thanks so much for the warm comments on this photo! A few of you were wondering about the rain. As @granagringa mentioned, I usually use a hose or watering can but was afraid that the couple would have gotten washed away! Instead I used a spray bottle. I've learned from research & experience that rain should be backlit to show up very well. So I moved my soft lamp very closely over the couple's head & slightly behind them. The closer the water drops are to the light source the more defined they are, as you can see. Having the camera in burst mode also helped as did a higher ISO & shutter speed, if possible.
